Amy Jean Nichols graduated with a B.F.A. degree from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1982. Her glass enameling experience started in 1973, hot glass in 1983 and bead making in 1988. Examples of Amy Jean’s work can be seen at the White House. Hillary Clinton assembled a collection of crafts to be on permanent display at the White House in 1994 and has been on a national tour for five years before resting back at the White House in Washington D.C.. Amy creates glass beads, glass enameled jewelry, and functional glass enameled copper wares.
